My Story

Hello everybody this is ArcadeObsessed.
I thought it was time to create a site on the Internets to show my appreciation for everything Arcade, Gaming and all sorts of Tech related stuff.
 
Here is a little journey into my story.
 
For as long as I can remember for some reason I had this overwhelming appreciation for arcade machines.
 
I used to drive my father crazy when I was very young around about the ages between 6-8 years of age, I kept asking him for coins for the local machines and then fast forward at the time 20 odd years later, low and behold I've got my own uprights arcade machine that over the years I restored and added artwork along with upgrading the monitor adding new games and generally maintenance of the machine.
 
It all started back in 2001-2002 I was working in the city at the time and my employer decided to surprise us staff and rent and completely fill out the entire break out area full of amusement machines.
 
Okay I was literally a kid in the candy store now and this was just any normal day
 
You name it they had it video games, ride ons, pinball it was amazing.
 
So I got talking to the main guy and it didn't take long for him to realise after talking about different names of manufacturers and who made what for example Capcom Midway he turned around and said gosh you know a lot about this stuff, I felt humbled it was just research that I've done myself and I think to have a passion there in the first place the more information you can acquire about something that you love so much makes it all worth while and very effortless.
 
One thing led to another all of a sudden I had decided that I wanted to purchase an arcade machine
 
One of the main reasons on buying one of these machines was to have it located in the place of business where I was working at the time to make a bit money out of it.
 
He said that he could accommodate that as he had plenty of machines for sale as well.
 
We organised a meeting to which I was shown all the machines that he had in that location and then I was to decide.
 
I couldn't believe the service from this
person it was A1, 100% professional.
 
Not only his service was so professional my overwhelming passion for these machines made me so happy.
 
I was about to get my Arcade, words can't describe how I was feeling I was so excited.
 
Every time I look at it or even play it today those feelings come back to me all the time as if it was only yesterday.
 
There will be so much more to come.
 
I'm planning on opening up a shop.
 
Selling parts, joysticks, wiring harnesses etc.
 
And maybe even some Brook accessories
 
Also I have produced some dance music that I'll keep updating from time to time which is available to purchase as well.
